Anomalies are strange and unexplained phenomena, that can hurt and even kill the Explorer if they come in contact with them.

Anomalies[]

Distortion Anomaly[]

DistortionUpdated "Distortion anomalies appear to produce an area of mirage-like spatial distortion between seven to nine meters in diameter and are mostly semi-transparent with sharp angular faces. When coming into contact with a Distortion anomaly, they cause a chaotic shift in carbon bonds—basically, your body is reconfigured at the molecular level and falls apart if you stay in too long."

A Distortion Anomaly can be identified by a refraction around 1 foot/ .5 meter in diameter that can be near the ground or floating in midair. When the Distortion Anomaly is triggered it appears as large translucent squares surrounding the refraction. Makes a loud "Distorted" waving noise when triggered. Does moderate damage for duration of time touching the anomaly. If standing inside the anomaly, it will decrease one's speed making it hard to rush through.

Haze Anomaly[]

Haze "The Haze anomaly appears to be a green floating cloud of highly toxic gas, which never disperses and always moves within a set pattern. The anomaly's effects are similar to that of Dichlorodiethyl sulfide {Mustard Gas} (chemical burns, respiratory system bleeding), and begin immediately after inhalation or contact with the skin."

A Gas Anomaly is identified by a large cloud of green gas resembling mustard gas. A green glow appears below the cloud as it moves along a set path or stationary. When the explorer inhales the gas it slowly does damage over the period that the explorer is standing in the anomaly. It can be completely subverted by using a gas mask. Probes not applicable.

Shock Anomaly[]

Shockanamoly "The telltale signs of a Shock anomaly are the loud cracking electrical noises it produces. This anomaly is particularly dangerous because it is almost completely invisible until triggered. The Shock discharges a massive electrical charge into anyone or anything that gets too close to it."

A Lightning Anomaly can be initially identified by a electrical sparking sound. If observant enough you are able to see the epicenter of the anomaly by small blue and white sparks appearing only when the audio cue takes place. The lightning Anomaly creates an arc of high voltage electricity when triggered. If an explorer triggers the anomaly then any items held have a high chance of being dropped on the ground and are unable to be retrieved without triggering the anomaly again. Recommended use of probes to scope out size of lightning anomaly. Can be removed with the use of a grenade. It has a spherical trigger radius of 4-10 feet / 3 meters.

Reflector Anomaly[]

ReflectorAnomaly "The reflector anomaly appears to be a transparent pulsing dome, seven to nine meters in diameter. This dangerous anomaly projects any non-organic object back the way it came, with supersonic speed while also heating it by several hundred degrees. If you walk into a Reflector, it will throw you back several meters and emit a sound."

A Reflector Anomaly can be identified by a rapidly convulsing sphere. When any object enters its trigger range it throws said object or person in a direct opposite trajectory of its point of entrance. When a probe is thrown in it fragments and heats to an astounding temperature on top of being thrown back. The Reflector Anomaly will kill if the probe redirects in the explorer's direction. Advised to be extremely careful when using probes around Reflector Anomalies. Does a small amount of damage if you are unlucky enough to step in it and may fling you into other damage dealing anomalies or make you fall and take fall damage.

Scythe Anomaly[]

Ringanomaly The Scythe anomaly is recognized by a translucent ripple wave that rapidly expands outwards from a center point. When the ring has reached its maximum size it contracts back into the center several times faster than its expansion. Can also be identified by the distinct sound emitted when expanding/contracting. If the ring is touched at any point it will instantly kill. Probe not applicable.

Stomper Anomaly[]

StomperAnomaly "Explorers and researchers have reported hearing but not seeing, a giant invisible creature lurking around the Radius; identified only by the sounds of heavy rhythmic stepping. To be clear, there are no documented cases of it's effects, reports have varied from those who believe it will crush anything with hundreds of tons of weight. Other theories include that it only damages equipment, or that it can't affect anything at all."

The Stomper Anomaly is identified by large stomping noises and a cloud of dust flung up. The anomaly is free roaming and moves in increments of ~10 feet / 3 Meters. If hit by the anomaly, equipment will be damaged, along with the activation of any grenades stored in the pouch or vest, it will also deal a high amount of damage.

Web Anomaly[]

Webs "Webs are long dark strands of material that are most commonly found in forests, but have been documented attached to other vertical structures. They make no sound until very close and are easy to miss if caution isn't taken. These traits make these areas afflicted particularly deadly to explorers who prefer to traverse during evenings and in low-light environments. After coming into contact with a web, you will immediately start to feel a burning pain that will not subside for some time after contact."

A Web Anomaly is an anomaly seen almost exclusively in forests and on the edges of zones. Appearance is long black strings. Cannot be identified by sound. Deals moderate-severe damage applying damage over time taking roughly half of the health bar if touched and do the rest of the damage over a period of ~10 seconds. Probe not applicable.

Black Grass Anomaly[]

BlackGrassAnomaly The Black Grass Anomaly typically appears indoors in darkened areas on walls, floors, ceilings, and sometimes even doorframes. It's sensitive to light sources and retracts if you shine a flashlight on it. Black Grass causes a small amount of immediate harm upon contact. It's harmless as long as it is in its retracted state. After the Black Grass has retracted it will begin to regrow at the same rate as it dissipates if the light source is removed. Navigating doorframes with Black Grass may be difficult, and it would be wise to double-check where you are going, especially in Pobeda Factory.
